Shannon Jones

“I have spent two decades fighting a rare form of cancer called Lynch syndrome. I have undergone countless surgeries and treatments. And every day is truly a gift. Living with cancer definitely gives me a much deeper insight to understand others who are struggling from cancer, chronic illness, depression, drug addiction and all of the trials and tribulations that cancer brings upon our lives.

Having spent nearly two decades in the financial industry, I provided education and training to account executives, loan officers and lenders in all areas of Federal and State regulatory laws. With my career at its peak, I left the lending industry after becoming gravely ill and was diagnosed with Lynch syndrome. Since that time, I have struggled with gaining medical remission.

This led me to pursue my passion to help others in the medical field as a mental health nurse. Being a nurse, I truly came to understand the psychology of my patients and lived in my passion by helping them at such a critical time in their lives. Now retired, due to my medical conditions, I eagerly pursue my passion by sharing my life’s journey.

I also spend as much time as possible with my family. Cherishing the smallest moments with my beautiful daughter, son in law and my little granddaughter. They will truly never know how in the simplest times have become some of the grandest moments that keep me fighting to simply live through another day. I am forever grateful to Hope Cancer Resources for all the selfless acts of great compassion and understanding, with the ability to embrace my life. My therapist has pulled me through many days when I was too weak to carry myself through another day’s dawn.”
